Diane's Instructional Design Studio

During the short time I have been online with my business one thing became quickly apparent, you guys LOVE to learn! Every project I do, everything I create, so many of you want to know more and have so many questions on how to do what I do. This warmed my heart and feels great to have a skill that others want to learn from you. Realizing your hunger for education and time to pick my brain I knew I needed a little more organized way to do it. I enjoy answering all of your question while we are live, but knew I was not able to answer them all even though I spent many nights up till one in the morning trying to do just that. So I decided it was time to create a monthly class for all of you where we can go in depth with each project.

Lists, Lists, and More Lists!

Our students in the group receive a complete detailed list of all of the items needed for the monthly focal project and links to where to get everything. Our student have plenty of time to collect all of the items they need for the live tutorial. When ever possible, I provide our Amazon affiliate link for the supplies. When our student order through these links they are also helping veterans and their families in need. One stop shop, AND the supplies come to your door?! No brainer!

Now, while I guarantee one project with a corresponding detailed supply list each month, I always want to give our students more. I am so grateful for this group and love working with each member . I am realizing how much I love to teach so I do additional projects throughout the month. For these "Bonus" tutorials I pop on and step by step show how I make bows, or make a wreath base among other projects. The bonus tutorials do not come with a written list of supplies needed but I go over the list as the project is designed. I love sharing the tips and tricks I have learned over the years. Going live in the group is so much fan and I thoroughly enjoy getting to know our members in a more personal way!. This group is not about business ...it's about building an amazing community!

Don't Be Afraid to Try New Things!

One thing I hope to instill in every person in the group is to not be afraid to try new things. I will never forget when I first announced what I was going to do for our first tutorial. So many people in the group said they had never painted flowers before. Many were nervous that their whole project would be ruined because of they weren't sure they could do it. I understand this completely. When I started painting I didn't know what I was doing. I was in a pretty challenging time in my life. I had a catastrophic injury that changed my whole life in an instant. Many surgeries, month of non-weight bearing, and even more months of rehab and learning to walk again. Learning the craft of painting saved my sanity during this dark time. I spent hours practicing at my work table. And now it's like second nature. But I learned a lot of tricks along the way that I was able to pass on to the group members. Many of them were amazed that a few brush strokes could create intricate flowers that anyone could paint. I was so overwhelmed with joy when I started receiving messages of pictures from the members with their works of art. Each one said they were so afraid to try it, but once I showed them step by step they quickly got the brush movement down. Sharing their completed projects in the group inspires me so much!

I could go on and on, but I just wanted to highlight some of my favorite parts of it. At every turn, and every challenge that happens because of my decision to bring my design business to the world through the internet is so worth it because of all the incredible people I have been blessed to meet and the sharing community I am now able to be a part of! I cant even put the joy I feel into words when my new community members tell me that I have been able to help them in their life and inspire them in some small way..... I wouldn't give this experience up for anything in the world. Happy Crafting!
